I am having a problem with a bowl chopping machine. KM7 and KM8 control the linear motor to make the lid go up and down i can only get this to work if i briefly energise km7 which then lets the lid go up and comes down ok the lid microswitch 1 is working all ok and have changed relays ka1/2/3/4 ??

That is a logic or ladder diagram, but in European format, i.e. from top progressing to the bottom outputs.
I have always found it harder to follow the logic, being used to N.A. ladder logic, left to right!
Rotating 1/4 turn to the left does not help!
Also EU symbols.

That’s what I thought, but wanted to make the point that it was unreadable.

I must admit, I have problem remembering the difference between NEMA & IEC symbols, although my initial training was in the UK, we used the same as NEMA, not IEC. so the move to N.A. was pretty seamless!

The diagram i have posted is the control circuit fromt the manufactuer, yes not very good but it is what they have sent.

 

this is the main power control diagram, I cannot seem to be able to get km7 or km8 contactor to latch without briefly maually pressing contactor km7 in, then the machine works ok . I have changed the relays ka1/2/3/4.
