My computer started to shut off at random about a month ago diden't matter if I was doing watching a video or just surfing the web I diden't think that much of it but now it is getting weird screen glitches and shutting off I have tested the memory with windows diagnostic tool so It can be that I just hope its not my graphics card.

Have you blown out the power supply and processor heat sink dust, most
common cause of overheating and tripping off machine.

If PC fairly old, like 5 years+, replace heat sing compound on processor.

Regards, Dana.

I had the same problem. Cleaned up everything--still happened. Inside the case I added a 12 volt fan, wired from an unused connection (found by trial and error) and pointed at the heat sink--problem solved.

Hi

Might be related to CPU overheating. Install hardware temperature monitoring software (many free ones) and monitor while using the computer.
Watch the temperature...normal operating temp is usually about 40-45 degrees C.

Do the same with the GPU.

There are a number of cheap/free utilities for monitoring whatever temperature sensors may be in your computer. I agree that heat could be an issue and if you keep an eye on things, you might be able to correlate temperature to shutdown.

You might also benefit from looking at your systems log at the moment of the last shutdown. These logs can be awfully cryptic but you never know until you look. Sometimes there is useful diagnostic information there.

Is this a laptop? Many laptops use a magnetic reed switch to detect closure of the lid. This can fail and cause random and sudden trips to la la land.

Worst fear is that your GPU is crapping out. There are utilities to 'exercise' a GPU and this might accelerate your shutdown issue. Useful from a diagnostic point of view.

I just reset my pc and it still did the same thing so I ran my pc in safe mode and works fine even ran stress test on my gpu to 98% and no problems wen out of safe mode everything worked fine until I reinstalled my amd drivers and then it started shutting off and my screen going out again so guess it is a software issue I hope.
