COB LED matching the good driver

Hi, I'm trying to find the good driver for one COB LED. The COB is Bridgelux BXRC-40G10K0-C-7X-SE, with optimal mA 1770/69.4 Volt. Can someone suggest a driver?

Hello,

As leds are current driven parts, you should respect the current.
If you are able to build a driver yourself, you could have a look at the LM3409HV.
It uses an external switching mosfet, so it can be scaled to your needs.

Thanks for the precision on current Bertus. I would prefer an already built driver, I think some come with built in potentiometer.

So do you want a dimmable driver?

Is there a specific reason why you are using that specific LED?
Since you are not well educated on how LEDs/electronics work I would not suggest a high voltage LED like that..
One that requires less than 48VDC would be "safer" for you to experiment with..
An LED like that should be used by experienced users only as there is a significant shock hazard..

Hi, thanks for the advice, I don't want to fry! Actually, I have 2 LED. One that work on 69 VDC and one that work on 39 VDC. To be "safer", I will experiment on the 39 VDC first.

The reason I had to go on the 69 VDC is that I need a high CRI led (more than 90), high power and around 4000 K. I have not found any with those criteria and lower voltage.

I found a dimmable driver the "Mean Well ELG-150-C2100A 72V 2100mA 151.2W". It starts at 36 VDC and can go up to 72. I will receive it today.

Quick glance but that driver should work just fine..
Just make sure you adjust its output current..

Do not forget to attach that LED to a heatsink or you will overheat it..

And lastly NEVER look directly at the LED.. They can do permanent eye damage in seconds..
