Circuit works on breadboard but not on CB

Hello all. So I don't really have much experience with circuitry. I'm more experienced with building things and adding lighting effects to them. I've been trying to make this below

still couldn't get the potentiometer to work
So I changed the timing and that seems to work fine on the breadboard, but when I transfer it to a CB it never works.


I've tried about three times now and same results every time. Maybe one of you can tell me what I'm doing wrong. This is a list of all the components. I've used the same ones from the breadboard so I know they're working.

The MOSFET driving the LED is the current limiting resistor. Not necessarily the best practice but sometimes ok if the devices’s specifications are still met.
