Circuit of Class C Commutation

It certainly has to be bipolar type since it charges in both directions.
This capacitor overdrive the load for a small moment, so if its capacity is too big this moment will be longer.
On other hand a very small cap may not to turn off Scr because its charge can be waisted during commutation on Scr structure before Scr turns off.

Thanks for your answer ...but how the C reverse the polarity to turn on and of the tow thyristors

My question is what type of the capacitor C in this circuit
I agree that a polarized (electrolytic or tantalum) capacitor would be unsuitable. There is no indication of the required capacitance, or the material used in the construction or the tolerance or the temperature coefficient. It is hard to give you ANY kind of definitive answer without more information. How about the voltage of the battery and part numbers for the thyristors.

Consider T2 is turned on so a current flows through R.
The T1 is off so cap is charged to about Vcc with plus on left side via RL and T2.
By turning on the T1 a new current path is created (Vcc/R/Cap/T1/Vcc) so T2 carries no current and turns off.

The capacitance of cap needed depends on Vcc and load R in way higher Vcc lower C and lower R higher C.

A commutation capacitor must have both adequate insulation so as to have low leakage and no chance of breakdown. That capacitor must also possess quite low internal resistance for both polarization directions, and be able to handle the power dissipation without overheating..

Here is my attempt I am going to use power thyristors with ten's hundreds amps and DC capacitors about 220 volts 10000uf this setup has many applications such as
spot welder
induction heating
magnetic magnatizezaton and de magnetized
edm machine
Coil gun

Not a good schematic. Resistors in high power circuit shouldn’t be used except shunts, snubbers etc.

Btw, This kind of commutation is used for hard-switching, i.e. disconnecting at high current.
There is also possible to commutate softly using LC where the Scr closes naturally without another Scr.
