Circuit component identification help

I am attempting to identify the component in this schematic labeled "1/4 hp". Everything I'm able to find online seems to indicate it's some sort of motor, but the schematic is for a temperature controller; a motor doesn't make any sense! I'd greatly appreciate any insight into this problem I'm having.

It also could be a fan motor. In other schematics, like the attached, it's called a load. According to your schematic, it can switch 10 amperes. You would degrade the HP to account for any inrush current on non-resistive loads.
