This made me chuckle: "String theorist Lubos Motl savaged Verlinde’s ideas in a recent blog post: “I wouldn’t okay this wrong piece of work as an undergraduate term paper.”

Brother, that says a lot more about you than about the work.

Well maybe but I thought it was interesting. I've never believed dark matter was more than a kludge so I guess I'm a receptive audience for this piece of rejected undergraduate work.

Kludge or not, it's still the biggest mystery in physics. And I'm still hoping it's answered in my lifetime.
