This made me chuckle: "String theorist Lubos Motl savaged Verlinde’s ideas in a recent blog post: “I wouldn’t okay this wrong piece of work as an undergraduate term paper.”

Brother, that says a lot more about you than about the work.

What is says about me... is that maybe I've been taking too seriously and giving too much credit to New Scientist?

Well maybe but I thought it was interesting. I've never believed dark matter was more than a kludge so I guess I'm a receptive audience for this piece of rejected undergraduate work.

Kludge or not, it's still the biggest mystery in physics. And I'm still hoping it's answered in my lifetime.
