Hi there, my wife recently plugged in a 220v power supply to her new 110v sewing machine. I've narrowed the problem down to this Varistor at this stage but as can be seen from picture it's missing a section with some numbers! Any ideas greatly appreciated!

 

I see your problem. You're missing a fuse.

 

Measure the diameter of that varistor (mm) and look up the pars of the part number you know.
GNR and D241k

If the part is 10mm, the part number is GNR10D241K, if 14mm, the part is GNR14D241K.

She has an American embroidery machine and an Irish Sewing machine which are both fairly similar. We use a small transformer here for the American machine but both have the same figure of 8 socket on the machine and hence the problem!
