Hi
I am trying to repair a small indoor weather station that my wife has in the kitchen , there is not really a lot I can replace ,I am just replacing stuff on it that I have in stock .
The pat in question is like a very small Capacitor , it measures 4.37x6.73mm , it has 2 legs and the writing on it is 30mH and it is black in colour .have searched online for anything resembling this but only come up with larger part in the micro Henry ! .

You could measure its resistance - expect it read 0Ω to 5Ω. this will tell you if the winding is open circuit but it won't tell you about shorted turns.

The Peak Atlas LCR meter would be helpful - but its not pocket money price.

A quick & dirty DIY method is to build an oscillator that doesn't need tapped inductor or capacitor - run the inductor up with a known capacitance and calculate inductance from the frequency you end up with. Can't remember if the best candidate is a Butler, Armstrong or something else - so I can't find a link to post.

Part number inductors were very common in big name brand TVs etc, but a trend is developing for numeric codes that follow the same 3 digit pattern found on SMD resistors.
