Hello all,
I've gotten some great advice on this forum before and I was hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction for some research I am doing.
I am currently writing a paper about battery performance in cold temperatures. Rooting around the internet, I found this site

that mentions cathode breakdown leading to short circuiting as a reason for lithium battery failure. Unfortunately, the site only references the phenomena very briefly and I have not been able to find anything online that would expound on what cathode breakdown is and how it leads to short circuiting in low temperatures.
Would anyone know about cathode breakdown and possibly be able to point me in the direction of any literature on the subject?
