I have ridden camels and eaten them in North Africa and the Middle East. In Australia (NT) they are preparing to cull the herds of wild camels, they have had offers from the Middle East to take them (alive); having a load of camels hitched up outside one’s house is a very prestigious, more so than a Rolls Royce or a Lincoln.

 

At the zoo I work at, we have camel rides. There are only two camels there to ride, but, I have rode them.

lol so it is either Rolls Royce or a Lincoln. Anyway the camel is not a native animal in Australia. Is does not belong there at all. That is the reason for that Australia want to decimate/exterminate the camel population.

 

Quite possibly. Typically when you introduce non-native species to areas, you introduce more than the animal.

You also flood the area with new bacteria in the mouths and bowels of the animals. And and diseases the animal may be carrying and have an immunity to.

Whenever we bring a new animal into our zoo, it goes directly to the hospital for a checkup then directly into quarantine.

Even a tick or a fly or a parasite egg can wreck other Eco-systems.
