How do I go about calculating the value of the resistor I need for the gate of the IGBT?

The IGBT is a stgp6nc60hd.

From what i read, the selection of the gate resistor is similar to the selection of a gate resistor for a MOSFET. It helps control the switching and thus any ringing, etc., and possibly other things too. Look around for some notes see what you can find.
