Calculating resistor value for gate of IGBT

IGBTs have a high impedance, voltage operated input, similar to a MOSFET.
They don't need a gate resistor.

From what i read, the selection of the gate resistor is similar to the selection of a gate resistor for a MOSFET. It helps control the switching and thus any ringing, etc., and possibly other things too. Look around for some notes see what you can find.
