I need to calculate the inductance of an iron core choke having DC resistance of 100 Ohm. Can I set up a simple circuit including R and Choke using AC 50 cps as frequency generator? and which is the appropriate formular?

The formula for inductance is always : Xl = 2piFL. 50 Hz might be adequate do determine the inductance, but one or two additional frequencies would let you see that the calculated Xl was correct.
