Dear All,
I have a broadband internet at home. The problem is that when some one switches on the light in one of my rooms the LED of the DSL modem goes off (the internet connection is lost)...though it returns after four or five seonds. This problem is intermittent while that particular switches are on.Can any one help solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.

the problem lies with the supply.
try connecting the adapter through a stabilizer/ups.
did the adaptor come with modem (many a times specs do not match if u buy it from somewhere else)
if not try getting one from the broadband company (i think its bsnl correct?).

Even if the switch is connected to a 100 watt light bulb, the circuit is drawing less than an amp. This should not affect a good adaptor. I agree with Recca02. I think the adaptor is your problem. The cheapest solution would be to get another adaptor and see if the problem still occurs.

Thanks for the replies..
I ve been using the same adapter came with the modem(bsnl) and all the three (CPU,monitor & modem adapter) are drawing power from the UPS.
I think that particular switch(in another room) had a sloppy connection ...like earth and neutre wires have been interchanged.
Anyway i m goin to see the bsnl man sooner for another adapter.
Thanks once again
