Hi.
Is your TV brightness set to maximum ? Or you have no idea of the setting ? Would you like to have it brighter ?

So far found a clue on failure of backlights. All asked/checked so far have it set at full blast and would set it brighter if could. And it is also a default factory setting.

No! The first thing I do when setting up a new TV or computer monitor is adjust the contrast and brightness for comfortable viewing.

I usually set both brightness and contrast at 30% for visual comfort. But even that sometimes proves to be too bright for me. The trick is to try and make the screen look like a piece of paper under a lamp would look like. For instance, both brightness and contrast are currently set at 23% on my Gigabyte 3440x1440 monitor.
