I have a Bosch Easydrill 12-2 without batteri and charger. I will use it in my car, and would like to connect it directly to the car batteri. I have tried to put 2 wires up in the Easydrill maschine. But it wont turn around. The only thing that happens is the light in front of the Easydrill lights up

 

Are you sure you had the wires the right way round?

Some (maybe most) cordless tools require additional connections to work off external batteries. Craftsman drills are one example of that with which I am familiar. There are 4 contacts. You need to trace out those contacts in the Bosch. It is doable with the Craftsman. Unfortunately, I do not have a Bosch to test, but I suspect the same principle applies.

 

The Drill is working, and I have the wires the right way around.

The battery has 5 connections. And I only have 2 wires with 12 volts. I dont have a Battery.

I have found a schematic over a battery (not a Bosch battery so Im not sure it has the same connections)

 

The Craftsman required a connection, as I recall, between one of the pins and the supply. I assume it was either for battery protection or anti-tamper. If Bosch is similar, you may need to do something with the thermister contact so the drill will detect something equivalent to "battery OK" before working.

 

Sounds like not enough current to move the motor, have you connected it direct to your car battery with 1mm cable or better.?

 

There is enough current. My other 12 volts machines works fine both with my car battery and with my 12 volts / 10 ampere power supply. The drill motor works fine if I connect 12 volts directly to the motor.

I guess that the machine needs some information from the 3 missing pins that a drill battery has. Maybe some indication of enough power or overheat protection. I could buy a drill battery and open it up, remove the battery cells and solder the 12 volts wires into the battery.

 

You could try reverse engineering the schematic of everything inside the drill. That may give us a clue to what signal it is expecting from the battery.

Agreed. Here's what I did on my Craftsman. Might help you too. Find a way to connect between the Bosch battery pack and drill with wires. Be sure drill operates. Then measure voltage between battery negative and each wire. Try disconnecting each wire to determine whether it is required.

If I dont figure out to get the drill machine working without the original battery i might have to buy an original battery and open it up and solder the 12 volts wires into the battery
