how does bluetooth actually work? does it perae on channels like a router does, say channel 1,2,3 etc to 8? so maybe hearing aids run in channel sections for different brands? i ask becuse i have signia hearing aids that are bluetooth, and they have different bluetooth channels that i can set them at in the fitting program. i have had them on channel 3 and so fat up to channel 195. so i'm curious if the bluetooth tv streamers amy be set in different channel bands for the different companies so they can force you to get the tv streamer form them only and you of course pay their price. when in reality any bluetooth streamer might work based in the channel the aids are set to? i have a rexton tv streamer and it is in the same case as the signia the otocon the siemens etc there are a lot of the same tv streamers out ther in the same case. so maybe if i can find the correct bluetooth channel on my hearing aids i can get the tv streamer to pair up with them?

so maybe someone here may know if that is how the bluetooth happens to work by just different channels thanks

thank i king of thought it worked that way. now if i can figure out what channels the smart transmitter 2.4 uses so i can put my hearing aids into one of those channels to see if they will pair up to it. maybe some here may have that info for me. unless they use different version of the bluetooth. i do not know if the hearing aids use different versions of the bluetooth yet.
thanks

The Signia hearing aids use a proprietary Bluetooth protocol. They WON’T pair with anything other than their Smartphone apps.

Maybe if you have custom tools, you could reverse-engineer the protocol.

I have Signia hearing aids and attempted To connect them elsewhere. The manufacture said I couldn’t.

thanks i was just curious if the hearing aids bluetooth was similar to the router channels. but it appears that bluetooth is much more sophisticated than wifi is. so i guess i will just toss that rexton stream in the trash.

thanks i'm not real savy on the bluetooth but the streamer says smart transmitter 2.4 on the cover so i wonder it that is the 2.4 ghz frequencys? i was kind ot hoping that because all these tv streamers the look the same but would not work with each other and were just on different set of channels and that if i could get the signia hearing aids on one of those channels that the rexton stream was using then mi aids would pair up to it. when i was programming my hearing aids they had 250 channels available to them so that is why i'm asking here to see if by chance those streamers might all be set to a specific set of channels and if i was to put my aids into one of those channels i would get lucky and they would pair up to the rexton streamer.
