I have an electric start 2500w petrol generator which i have set the correct RPM for its AC output but its 12 v 7 ah starter battery charging voltage is too high at 17v , the battery requires 13.5 v , will this cheap solution work ?

Do you have a better solution ?

 

If that module lives up to its description it should do the job.
