Were having severe problem with copper thefts here now. I saw it in Memphis in 07 but never in Central FL. The best local story about them is these idiots steel 4000lbs of a steel alloy. Take it to the scrapper and sell it for $800. The scrapper takes it knowing its a type of steel and later uses his meter and can't get a reading on it. After samples were taken and puzzle peices put together it was aerospace metal stolen from Raytheon or someone and was worth like $2,000 a lb.

But anyways people are stealing all the AC coils from all the public buildings all over the city now. Siding, etc.. Really anything copper they can get their grubs on they steal causing millions in damage.
