Many days have passed. Did you manage to understand and do something yourself? The topic is interesting, but it seems to be no longer alive?

Since the thread started there are likely newer and better systems out there acting as a ballistic chronograph. The shooting community in general can be a peculiar lot and fads change. One year everyone is worried about how fast their fired bullets are traveling the next year it's the latest and greatest bullet coating and we can't forget powder scales and the never ending arguments about just how accurately I need to measure my powder charges. The list goes on but you get the general idea. Then every several years we just recycle the list. I still use the chronograph I posted in this thread a few years ago. Thinking Kathy, my wife, gave it to me as a Christmas gift early 90s. Still works just fine and more than accurate enough and actually accuracy in a chronograph is not all that important. What is important is that if I shoot a 5 or 10 shot group I look for repeatability in my velocity. Do I care if my muzzle velocity is 2900 or 3100 FPS? Not really. What I care about is my average mean deviation because that tells me how consistent my loads are.

Maybe in a few years we can visit the subject again. :)
