A wiper motor on high speed only runs at around 45RPM.

As to lift motor, many unanswered questions: Weight, max current draw, torque, RPM under load.
With worm drive , most likley will hold position with out power. price not bad, but where to ship?

Many of the automotive 12v motors will tolerate 18vdc for extra rpm, as long as the current is monitored.

You can buy cheap PWM DC controllers on ebay ~$4 to $5.00.
Depends what kind of AC motor.
DC motors are often very cheap if you have an auto wrecker where you are, especially if it is a strip-your-own yard.

MaxHeadRoom, PWM DC controllers are ok. But my concern is price of DC motors.
Windshield wiper motor / power window motors are around $35 to $50.
Starter motors are more costlier.
None of them have required power rating too. I need 100W power since I will have to lift 10kg payload.
Generic 100W DC motors cost anywhere between $40-$200.
I do not know about AC motor costs for the same power rating, but I saw 100W sewing machine motor costs around $15 to $20, which is in my budget.
