Somebody fell asleep in class so the teacher threw an eraser at him to wake him up. No one in the class said a word.
I challenged an answer on an exam and won. His response "Your not supposed to know that yet" I don't remember what it was.My physics teacher was a sub. He designated me the class clown and sent me to the back of the classroom because I kept challenging what he was teaching. He was very surprised but congratulatory when my exam results (externally graded) came back A+.
Those (electron orbitals) were one of the attractions at our cinema too. What a coincidence!I challenged an answer on an exam and won. His response "Your not supposed to know that yet" I don't remember what it was.
Sometimes we are taught stuff to make it easier or at a lower level. One example is electron orbitals. Initially they were taught as circular because probablility theory was needed to teach it correctly. eg. 1s2 rather than 2 8 8 18
No need, if you get a sewer cover on your head you don't need a guillotine anymore.Don't forget to sharpen the lower edge, in keeping with the thread title.
But you live in a fairly civilized country. Here the unemployment rate has not been below 15% since 1830 (occasionally hitting 25%). Spain has the highest number of school drop outs in the Western world. Nothing get's DONE really, there is little interest. Here my orders show up about one day late since the end of December.

You'll need to explain that! I know that Canada has no states but provinces (comparable to the Netherlands) but just Quebec is 40 times the size of the Netherlands so their flag has more significance than a provincial flag in that small European country. The red is the national flag of course but why is that 'better' ('though that could change')?Presently the red one is better but that could change.
Hi Les,Hi Sofa, I'm glad you have got it working. I would have continued finding out why the Chinese sensors did not work. The weather in my part of the UK has been cold for weeks and it is now snowing.
Les.
Well, yesterday's winners are todays losers. Most countries in Europe are in some state of lock down but the numbers don't come down anymore or hardly at all. The UK is breaking all records, Germany (which did well) has become a nightmare too and it goes on and on. Every day it's either bad news or very bad news. I suppose many are so fed up with it that they have become immune, to the bad news that is. And so they don't even try to comply with today's laws or regulations. My only hope is a vaccine that works now. Personally I have given up on everything else. I am not saying I disagree with the measures at all but it's no use anymore. It's up to the poor souls who work in the hospitals now. Unfortunately not a single government (except China and a few more) did what it was supposed to do but killing an elephant with a fly swatter is utterly useless. Vaccinations have just started but we are also at the start of winter so ......Presently the Canadian government is coping fairly well with COVID, the Quebec provincial counterpart no so well.
I thought it always rains in the UK. Whenever I see the satellite images from the weather forecast there's a UK shaped cloud over the UK.The weather in my part of the UK has been cold for weeks and it is now snowing.
Yes and that will make it even worse as 2 weeks ago it was Christmas, followed by the New year's 'celebrations'. That's what we are seeing now.Don't forget any action or measure can have up to 2 weeks delay to see any results.
