I just got Audacity 3.3.3 and I always used the other Audacity as well.

In the other Audacity I would open a File and it will show you the Bit Rate it was Recored at and the FREQ. it was Recorded at.

So I could always select the whole track and change the Bit Rate it was Recorded at.

I would also turn it from Stereo to Mono.

So when I Export this new File it would be smaller in Size.

The one thing I never would do is change the FREQ. that it was Recorded at.

Because if you do this the Audio will play slower.

On the Bottom Left Hand side of the Screen it had a Project Box with all these FREQ. in it.

I would pick 44.1 kHz from the list.

then I would Export my File as Wave.

What was I doing and they got Rid of this in Audacity 3.3.3 I think?

Did you try just exporting it as .wav? Perhaps it allows you to choose the bit width and frequency after you do that? Otherwise, it is likely in settings somewhere.

I do know this will let you change the FREQ. but if I use this to change it from 48 kHz to 44.1 kHz it sounds very very slow.

I do understand what this is.

If it was Recorded at 48 kHz and you change it to 44.1 kHz you are going to change the FREQ. to a lower one.

So you will Hear it as well.

I would always leave this as is in the other Audacity and just go to the Bottom Left Hand Side of the screen and I think it had a Project FREQ. Box.

I use to pick 44.1 kHz from this Box then Export it.

What was this doing?

Default sample rate is what a new project will get in the absence of a change. Project sample rate is what ever is assigned to the project. Project sample rate determines the output of the program when previewing and exporting.
