are there any schematic diagrams for a programmer for the Atmel AT89S51?

I googled for a little bit; then i decided that its too specific of a question; and im new to this area of electronics so i wouldn't know how to broaden it and keep it refined enough...

I'm trying to make a 8 bit synthesizer...probably will take a while, but its one of those first time projects...but they take forever anyways!

thanks,

sorry; i wasnt specific enough:

does just connecting the correct leads to the correct pins on a D-SUB connecter (i forget the name for the one on the computer) make a programmer for all ATmega's or others for that matter?

Technically, yes, or at least any AVR device that supports In-System Programming (ISP), which I think all of them do. But, I'd take the time to do it right, as according to the previous webpage you risk ruining your parallel port, which can be a real bummer (when was the last time you saw a PCI parallel port card?).

Take a look here: http://www.lancos.com/prog.html#avrisp
