Is this another scenario where the government spies on my equipment, sends a SWAT Team to kick down my door, and then find that I connected my blinky Christmas lights to the same outlet my computer was plugged in to?

Beans, beans. They're good for your heart.
The more you eat, the more you fart.
The more you fart, the better you feel.
So, eat your beans with every meal!

Are employers allowed to do drug testing for pot if it is legal?
It's evolving on what employers are legally allow to do. If you are directly subject to federal regulations then it's prohibited but most are not so currently it's a don't ask, don't tell climate. I've not touched the stuff in 30+ years but you never know what will happen to make you want to eat a nice brownie on vacation.

Are employers allowed to do drug testing for alcohol if it is legal?

(You can't drive a school bus drunk, even if alcohol is legal.)
I guess my question was, what is a passing value and what is a failing value? What are the issues with second-hand pot smoke? Pot is much different than alcohol in terms of residuals left in the bloodstream/urine. The longer you smoke it on a regular basis, the longer it takes to clear the bloodstream. So, what are acceptable dose, time decay recommendations?

It seems that recent events have surpassed legislation (and employer rules).
