Arduino Uno Pin Compatible PIC Board, bad idea?

Yeah, I have a curiosity type board designed 80% complete that is full of those. What turned me off was how expensive they were. I didnt see myself ever buying one to experiment. Spent the time making the Kicad footprint to spec (including the logo requirements) and everything. The fact I can just buy a curiosity board, with more features, kind of kills it for me.

edit: Also for some reason I really like the little 8-bit devices. idk why.

Just some final adjustments to socket positions and its finished.
KiCAD has to be one of the most complete and best open source programs.
I'm on the fence still about ordering boards and building them, not sure if i have a use.
