So consider an embedded system like Arduino.
If it has analog input pins then the voltage that I apply on these pins goes to some analog to digital converter. So the voltage gets sampled.
But what about the digital input pins? Where does the voltage go? I imagine that it is also sampled but not by an ADC, but by some other circuit that directly uses that value.
