hello guys, i hope this is the right place to post a thread/question. I have a saltwater aquarium with a power head (wave maker) that is 110v 12 watts / and moves water at a rate of 5000 L / hour. i want to reduce this because it is too powerful. Anyone have any ideas besides shaving the impeller ? im thinking along the lines of something like a like dimmer switch ?

The frequency is what controls how fast those AC motors spin.. A dimmer won't work.

Use a mechanical solution like diverting/splitting the flow.
or just buy a different one.
