Good day all.
Looking to install a couple of video cameras on power-over-ethernet POE and I know peanuts about how to choose nor connect them to an internet modem to see what happens around my house from overseas, and record the last hour? of activity events. NO Wifi !
The only equipment I have is an Ubee brand modem model DVW32CB supplied by the internet provider probably with no POE capability. :( How is it done ?

To start with, connect your modem to this:

https://www.microcenter.com/product/617284/tenda-teg1105p-5-port-unmanaged-gigabit-poe-switch

That gets you 4 ports with POE on them, so 4 cameras with zero wifi. Next, cameras:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=poe+security+camera&_sacat=0&_sop=15

Here is what Amazon spit up:

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=poe+security+camera&crid=ZDSD0W4SWDF6&sprefix=poe+security+camera,aps,94&ref=nb_sb_noss

If you add the word 'kit' to the amazon search, youo get lotsa 4- and 8-camera kits with the switch and power source included. More expensive than going ala carte, but pre-designed to match.

No warranties expressed or implied.

POE has been a regulated standard since 2003, so the hardware is relatively easy. The software is the thing.

There has to be something of value in a $150 POE switch that is not in a $39 switch, but I have no idea what that is. Same for the cameras. I suspect that a $399 kit comes with an app to config and control everything.

I put up a Micro Center link because a) I see that you are somewhere in the east half of the country; b) it is enormous and has a good cross-section of just about everything; and c) it is 4 miles from my house. Guys-on-the-floor support for technical product guidance is excellent; phone support is iffy.
