the conventional phrases are easy to learn - however the grammar it-self is quite tricky but not impossible
but then there is and aristocrat Russian and "old" - poetry Russian - that are totally different "beasts"
to learn the essential spoken language likely goes quick
then , at least 2y (and this is likely quite intense learning) to get the grammar
