I am working on a project and I need a chip which I can use to convert I2C to SPI

Any suggestion?

 

It might be easier to go from SPI to I2C. SPI supports full duplex; I2C doesn't: http://www.microsemi.com/document-portal/doc_download/130041-ac324-spi-to-i2c-interface-app-note

Do you want a single, purpose-designed chip or are your open to a programmed MCU?

Thanks for your reply. In the design, an MCU is communicating with two chips, One has I2C and the other SPI.

So I want to keep the communication through SPI since the system to be designed has to communicate with another system through SPI. That is why I want to convert the I2C to SPI so that I can keep all communication in SPI.

Why can't your MCU capture the data in the I2C and send it on according to the SPI protocol to wherever it needs to go? A search on I2C to SPI yields several hits like this: http://www.nxp.com/products/interface_and_connectivity/bridges/i2c_slave_to_spi_master_gpio_bridges/

What do those chips lack?

Thanks John, I will just use an MCU with both SPI and I2C peripherals, so that the MCU can communicate with both chips effectively. I am working with LTC4274A and LAN8720 in a PoE PSE system to provide power management
