Obviously. And, as I said, good job clipping them out with Microsoft Paint, the Microsoft screen grabber tool or what ever else you used. You are a very clever man. How many times do I need to say it? Well done.
I'm guessing that you have probably said it enough times for people to accurately conclude that you made up your allegation just to cause strive and, having gotten caught red handed, are now incapable of admitting it and are insisting on just digging the hole deeper.

But this is a good thing, since it shows everyone how much credence they should give anything you post.

Now, if you want me to restore the post, I will. Otherwise I'm more than willing to let your lack of such a request speak for itself and will make an effort to ignore anything further from you.

If you post that thread, your post is asking a question of the OP on a locked thread. How would you expect him to reply to a locked thread. Don't be an idiot.

That's sure a stretch. No one would be expecting anyone to reply to it and the only reason it would be there would be to establish that it had not been edited and that you are making up accusations out of whole cloth. Everyone here, including you, knows that. Furthermore, there's no need for it to be restored very long and a follow-up post can easily make it clear why it is has been restored in the mean time.

So you want to be an idiot?

I'm gathering this is a toxic place. Maybe next time I'll ask Reddit.
In all seriousness, I'm sorry for wasting your time.

Boy, you really ARE scared of having that post restored and showing everyone your utter lack of integrity, aren't you?

Fine. I'll restore it and you can declare what an idiot I am while also coming up with your next fantasy about the grand conspiracy against you that I have been able to mastermind.

Since your only objection is that the TS can't respond, that has been taken care of.

As is the case on most forums, there are a small number of members that find pleasure in sowing discontent. GopherT is one of them. Most of the others have been weeded out, but no garden is ever clear of all weeds for long.

Yes, there can be "toxic" interactions anywhere.
I watched and read that thread as it developed. I think you came into it already deciding to use a transformer. You had safety and what you were comfortable with doing as the priorities.

But, you did ask for alternatives and there were genuine responses in that regard. Yes, there was absolutely some some snarkiness, but some of it was understandable (but not necessarily justified). You, alone knew what your experience level, setup and end result was and it seemed like you were becoming insulted when people who did not know that would chime in. After 161 posts (or whatever number subtracted from the thread in question), you must have had some idea of what goes on here and must have had something in mind when you posted.

I think that you were, to some degree, a bit more sensitive than was needed.

As far as condemning the entire Forum based on your experience with a few, including a few who genuinely were trying to help, well that is your call, but it is unreasonable to me.

"In all seriousness", "sorry for wasting time", "ask Reddit next time" - those are dodges - will you at least admit to having some part in the way it ended?

Sure, I guess I was hoping to encourage discussion about something to broaden my knowledge on a topic. Instead I got a bunch of answers to a question I didn't ask. To this I suppose I got offended rather quickly, unfortunately as you pointed out at 160+ posts, this routine isn't new. In fact some earlier interactions were worse. So my patience with perceived negative attitudes and superiority complexes was and still is much shorter than would be ideal.
I genuinely appreciate that all help and knowledge sharing from everyone here is unpaid and generally thankless.
Also, the Reddit comment is poor humor, have you ever read Reddit? It's often a cesspool.

Just adding my 2¢ (which I'll prolly regret:rolleyes:) I totally fail to see need for deleting posts at all except in case of liable, intellectual property violation or betrayal of personal info (doxing)!

So I say closing _out of control thread_ where TS' attitude is major part of problem makes sense but deleting posts just causes lack of transparency and loss of confidence in moderation integrity despite honestly good intentions:(! I understand abt _taking fuel out of fire_ but (to mix metaphors:oops:) I say keeping facts in _cold light of day_ is best policy cuz anything that can be perceived as _secrecy_ or _censorship_ always breeds suspicion:( Just sayin'

So to be totally clear my post quoted at top of this post wasn't complaint about AAC or any particular situations on here! It's basically just my idle musings about rules of _chat rooms_ in general:)! Sry for misunderstandings:oops:

So I would say I'm _happy camper_ but I better not cuz ppl from other English dialects could misunderstand that:eek::p!

Now that some dust has settled on this incident, I want to voice an opinion that I had when I first read your (@WBahn) post that I quoted above.

What you said takes the focus off of a behavior and puts it onto a person. Moreover, it suggests that the issue is not limited to a single person, i.e., that there are others who need to be dealt with.

When the posts becomes distinctly personal, for moderators as well as for all posters, it is time to stop, take a step back and reevaluate. In other words, it has gone too far and the Forum community is not served by the interaction and, in fact, it is a a distinct disservice.

I am not immune to such interactions, but I feel that it is particularly important that moderators (as difficult a job as that must be) strive not to make it personal.

I believe this because, in my own experience, when it becomes so personal, objectivity is necessarily diminished or lost entirely.
