Note: I'm asking this here., Not sure if AAC has a subforum for mobile devices..
Hello, I have a Android smartphone with a peculiar problem. It is a Motorola Moto G ( 2nd gen ) running Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The problem is the FM radio is causing my phone to freeze and reboot after prolonged use. I'm asking this here because I am looking for resources and opinions from a technical standpoint, from some people with experience in the hardware side.,this is my 3rd or 4th handset with this EXACT problem, all of them Verizon, Qcomm CDMA chips.
Have already been through the basic steps, clearing cache, reapplying updates, factory reset. Have also contacted Verizon and Motorola tech Dept and because my phone is out of warranty they can do nothing..
I'm looking for any opinions as to what is causing this, also I've googled the issue of FM tuner crashing phone and many people have complained of this. Seems to be a problem not just with Motorola but devices with Qualcomm chipsets with EV-DO / LTE modems. Moto phones, HTC, Samsung etc.
Has anyone heard of this?
Especially anyone with a Verizon or Sprint branded phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC processor?
What could be causing this?
