Security researchers at Check Point say the company has uncovered evidence that Chinese hackers managed to hijack $1 million in seed money during a wire transfer between a Chinese venture capital firm and an Israeli startup—without either side realizing anything was wrong.

The VC firm and the startup, whose names Check Point hasn’t released, reached out to the security firm after the funds failed to arrive. Once Check Point dug into the details, it discovered a man in the middle attack that took a lot of planning and plenty of patience.
...
Throughout this process, the hacker sent a total of 18 emails to the Chinese VC firm and 14 to the Israeli startup ahead of the compromised bank transfer. At one point, the VC account manager and startup CEO scheduled a meeting in Shanghai, putting the hijack at risk. So the hacker sent emails to both sides, making up different excuses to cancel the meeting:

By all means protect the poor little flying rats "Pigeons are notorious disease carriers, earning them the nickname “flying rats”. They potentially carry Histoplasmosis, salmonella, Cryptococcosis, Psittacosis, pseudo-tuberculosis, and West Nile Virus, to name a few." Where I went to college they left bait peanuts out for them. Some kid was always bringing in a poor sick little pigeon found lying on the ground to the Biology Dept. Which after the kid left summarily deposited them into a trash can being the vermin they are.

I definitely took up the wrong career!
Max.

The $120,000 work, by Maurizio Cattelan, was ripe for the picking -- and on Saturday, it was unceremoniously taken off the wall at the Art Basel Miami Beach and eaten by a performance artist,
amid a crowd of stunned onlookers,

The guy that ate it wants to be an "artist" too. He's going to duct tape his bowel movement to the wall. Hasn't decided on a name yet for his work, but is taking bids on said work.

Little bit of false trivia there
Quote: "Train burnout occurs when the train is using multiple locomotives. Usually there are only people in one locomotive and the other locomotives are controlled by remote control. So the train stops and one locomotive doesn't get the word to stop so it continues to run only the rest of the train which is stopped holds it in place and the wheels just spin away wearing the track down under the wheels."

When there is more than one locomotive required, units are in 'Consist' i.e. all loco's are communication-coupled together and all are controlled by the head/lead unit.
Generally what Can happen is that the engineer allows the wheels to spin, but it is happening on ALL locomotives in the consist.
The result is more than a single track burn out as seen in the second photo.
Max.
