I guess stupid has no borders.

I can see it noble if you are poor and desperate and sell a kidney to feed your family. But to do it to buy an iPhone is light years beyond stupid.
... the poor guy was only a teen (a child, in my eyes) when he did what we did (16 years old, I believe) ... it's something that I constantly told my son when he was growing up, "life throws at you the hardest decisions when one is the least prepared, and when one lacks the wisdom and intelligence to deal with them" ... that is why I kept saying that he had to trust me, and not himself, when he was only a child ... I knew the stuff he was going through at every stage of his life, and I had his best interests in mind ... Today he's a 21 year old in his last year of Chemical Engineering, enjoying a 60% academic scholarship, and going as an exchange student to continue his studies in Germany. I couldn't be prouder of the kid... he's a much better person than I ever was at his age...

I don't think it takes all that much maturity to know you don't sell a kidney and risk your life to acquire material things. I am certain your boy had that wisdom likely well before he reached his tenth birthday.

What is really sad is to think that commercialism has this much control over people's lives.

If I were to abduct someone in another planet, I'd most definitely do it in a sparsely populated area... I'm just say'n ...
I'm going with there are already so many strange characters in places like LA, they don't want to risk abducting another space alien.
