Good Lord... I didn't know about that particular detail of your experience. As far as the frozen-waking moments in bed go, I've only had a couple of similar events in my life, and yes, they're terrifying.@cmartinez
I hate those "waking up paralyzed" moments. They are terrifying!
The title of this Thread includes the word, "weird".
Here's some weird: For 6 nights in a row, I dreamed I was in bed, awake, and I couldn't get up. On the 7th night I got hit by a drunk driver. When I awoke, I was in a hospital bed in traction. I was in bed, awake, and I couldn't get up...for 3 months!
(Cue Twilight Zone music.)
This experience argues in favor of predestination. That is the only reason I can think of to dream of a life changing trauma for 6 nights in a row before it happened in the physical world.
Well, I can't think of how my subconscious mind noticed that a drunk driver would arrive in 5 or 6 days.Maybe our subconscious is capable of predicting certain events because it is able to notice things that our conscious mind can't.
or a dream state induced by medication during injury.@12 That definitely conjures up the paranormal.
The problem with that theory is that I didn't receive any medication until after the injury. The, "dream state" started 7 days before I received any medication. My subconscious mind deciphering subtle clues that drugs would be arriving in a week?or a dream state induced by medication during injury.
And then there's the phenomena we normally call "coincidence" ... although in your case, what were the odds of all those similar events happening the way they did? ... Pretty low, I'm sure.... weird indeed. The problem with that theory is that I didn't receive any medication until after the injury. The, "dream state" started 7 days before I received any medication. My subconscious mind deciphering subtle clues that drugs would be arriving in a week?
Oh. I get it. You're saying I imagined the entire 6 consecutive nights of dreams after the injury. Well, that creates another "weird", The people I told about the nightmares before I was injured. One of them even wrote about my strange and annoying dreams in a letter to his wife and brought that written record to my attention several months later in a, "told ya' so" moment because he wrote, "(my real name) is going to get hurt".

Two people suffered from drug induced false premonitions before the injury.![]()
It sure is a strange coincidence to me! That was the only time in my life that I can remember having the same dream 6 nights in a row. They were very memorable nights because the, "dreaming you're awake and can't move" dream is frightening. I was actually accumulating fatigue from unhealthy sleep and a 17 hour per day schedule that would not allow napping to compensate. And then there's the phenomena we normally call "coincidence"
So let me tell you about my weird experience last night ... I was having a very strange dream about one of my cats (Luca) when I suddenly half-woke up with the very strange feeling that I was being watched... and there he was, my cat was standing upright very close to my head, staring intensely down at me!It sure is a strange coincidence to me!
Well, I made the choice to continue my school and work schedule in spite of feeling more tired than usual. Vanity about keeping Honor Roll grades at any cost. And my belief that the dreams would end of their own accord and life would get back to normal in a few days.
Still, the dreams were annoying enough that I spoke to a few people about them. One of them put it in writing. I didn't need his writing to convince me, but I don't think it will convince nsaspook. He seems to be my personal skeptic on this site.
That was the usual hallucinations that happen when you wake up and you're still paralyzed. When it happens to me, the ceiling fan (which has 5 blades) is often a scary monster person floating above me.So let me tell you about my weird experience last night
Just wondering here... but you never mentioned what happened to that drunk driver... he was thrown in jail, I assume? That was the usual hallucinations that happen when you wake up and you're still paralyzed. When it happens to me, the ceiling fan (which has 5 blades) is often a scary monster person floating above me.The night light becomes light coming in through a non-existent window. The curtains are in the bed because everything is 2 dimensional. I fear that my sleep was disturbed by a person approaching. I can't move. I can't protect myself. Augggh!
If it ever again happens for 6 night in a row, I will expect something truly horrible on the 7th night.

Let me see, supernatural precognition or coincidence and/or dreams. Let me think a bit about which one is more likely.(Cue Twilight Zone music)

Well, since this was his third DUI conviction and he didn't have any insurance to pay for my injuries, I heard he was sentenced to 10 days in jail. My lawyer asked about how to find the drunk on the sixth day of his sentence and I told him. The drunk was not in jail.you never mentioned what happened to that drunk driver
That's one thing I don't believe in, karma, that is... yeah, what comes around goes around, at least most of the time.I must have been a very bad person in a previous life to have Karma like that.![]()
I don't believe in transcendent Karma either. What I said was mostly a sad joke. That's one thing I don't believe in, karma,
