Actually I don't find it gross... I find it sad... I hope that this bit of news is followed up with more news about her recovery


It story is sad but the details are what is gross. What is appalling is there were people checking in on her and they allowed her to get to this point. This is so bizarre it almost sounds like fake news and I am hoping that is the case. If it is true, sadly she is 75 years old. This would be a difficult recovery for someone half her age. She probably isn't going to make it which might be a blessing.

"Allowed her to get to this point?" They had to facilitate getting her to this point. For a 75-year-old woman to maintain 250 kg body mass at basal metabolic rate (no excersise), she would need north of 3000 calories per day. That is not just someone checking in on her.
