FYI: I have tried both the TDA2030 Mono Amplifier Board 18W 6-12V Power AMP and a DC 3V~12V 5V 6V LM386 mini micro audio power amplifier both of which are not compatible.
Thank you

Either amplifier should work.
You need to show the 555 circuit diagram as well as the amplifier circuit diagram and how they are interconnected.

You are not getting analog audio out of a ‘555, just digital pulses. These can be amplified by using a single transistor switch at a higher voltage.

Edited: actually two transistors in a push pull configuration would be better. Ir better yet, a four transistor bridge.

Thank you for your comments. Here is the circuit as in the weblink:

I like the transistor bridge idea but I’m not expert enough to design it so any diagram would be great
Thank you again

I suggest that you replace the speaker with a 10Ω resistor and hope that the circuit still functions as designed. (Or you can leave the circuit as shown.)
Take the output signal from 555-timer pin-3 via another 10μF capacitor to the input of the amplifier.

The 10uF capacitor feeds the speaker or 10 ohms resistor with high pitched beeps. Try using 470uF or 1000uF for gun sounds if your speaker is large enough (4" diameter or more).

Simple error the volume on the amp was down!
I’ve now replaced the circuit speaker with a 10 ohm after trying various values and getting a reasonable volume and a good gun sound
Great fast help from this forum,
I will certainly come back with any further issues. I’m now working with micro stepper motors and a controller trying to get 1/3 of a revolution with every button push-very interesting
