An update, I used the mixer today and after 2hrs it switched of by itself again,

I tried to switch it back nothing so I let it sit for 20 mins and it came back on again.
I guess it’s something heating up which is causing it to power off

Any joy in finding the fault at the end?
The reason that I'm asking is that I have the same Mixer and is acting pretty much the same , except for the blown TOPSwitch.
My mixer is switching off after a few minutes but I can power back on the mixer after approximately 5 minutes.

If you, or anyone has found the fault can you please reply?

Hi, I have not found the problem, but I have given my mixer to someone specialised in electronics a few months ago, he has not got around to looking at it yet, but when he does and finds what the problem is I will let you know.

I was going to take a chance and buy the power supply board, but it’s very pricey £280, when it may not be the problem, that being said, I can’t see why it wouldn’t be the PSU

Allen & Heath make excellent mixers and have a good reputation worldwide. I’d suggest sending them an email with a link to this thread and ask for a schematic and some suggestions. I think they might be concerned that a number of owners are experiencing the same problem with a power supply and would want to help

It’s funny you mention about having a good reputation, which they do, but on the Allen Heath DB2 they have not.

When I bought the mixer years ago, there where lots of problems with drivers not working etc… They had a forum where you could post problems etc… and there was a lot, They discontinued the forum and made a new one without a thread for the DB2, shortly after they discontinued the DB2.
I have tried to email them since, but no reply,

Check D1 & D2 and any diodes on the output for shorts, also any shorts on the output sides.

Hi Dave, I checked D1 and D2, they seem ok, but I checked D6 and D5 which could be a schokkty diodes, standard diodes or switching diodes not to sure. With D6 I get no reading one way and when I reverse the polarity with the multimeter I get 0.4, I believe this is OK, but D5 I get 0.4 and when reversed I get a high reading of 1.4.
D3, D4, and D7 are a different type of diode but act the same as D5, when tested.
