I doubt that much will change on the discovery of ET. First will be some panic.
Why panic?

I get it if the ETs surprise us photon cannons ablazin' -- in which case I'll grab my Klingon disrupter and fire back.

But if some scientist develops incontrovertible evidence of intelligent life 100 light years or more away, what is there to panic about? Are human beings, in general, so psychologically fragile? Are you?

Ancient aliens on the history channel did one last night about an alien (god) who was destroyed. It is unusual that so many cultures had the great flood in their beliefs.

How do the aliens know where the earth will be when their laser light gets here? They don't have to aim their sun (star), but they will have to aim their laser.

I wouldn't make fun. According to the latest.......there are 2 trillion galaxies now.
So the numbers are against you. Supposedly.

I don't doubt there is alien life somewhere but the number of possible galaxies does nothing to increase the chances that 234 known stars are sending coded signals to earth at 1.65 picoseconds.
