Is artificial intelligence the great filter that makes advanced technical civilisations rare in the universe?
This study examines the hypothesis that the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), culminating in the emergence of Artificial Superintelligence (ASI), could act as a "Great Filter" that is responsible for the scarcity of advanced technological civilisations in the universe. It is proposed that such a filter emerges before these civilisations can develop a stable, multiplanetary existence, suggesting the typical longevity (L) of a technical civilization is less than 200 years. Such estimates for L, when applied to optimistic versions of the Drake equation, are consistent with the null results obtained by recent SETI surveys, and other efforts to detect various techno signatures across the electromagnetic spectrum. Through the lens of SETI, we reflect on humanity's current technological trajectory – the modest projections for L suggested here, underscore the critical need to quickly establish regulatory frameworks for AI development on Earth and the advancement of a multiplanetary society to mitigate against such existential threats. The persistence of intelligent and conscious life in the universe could hinge on the timely and effective implementation of such international regulatory measures and technological endeavours.

SKYNET also kills all the aliens.

The entire article is so stupid it must be a hoax. Billions of people with cameras all over the world scanning the sky and what's shown in the article for 'proof' are BS images of night vision triangular iris artifacts from a investigative journalist, Jeremy Corbell, that's been debunked a million times, even by the NY Post. Made Up BS again.

UFO expert debunks Navy footage of mysterious pyramid-shaped objects
The green-tinged video was captured by the Pentagon’s Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF) and initially leaked to filmmaker Jeremy Corbell, who created the documentary “Bob Lazar: Area 51 & Flying Saucers.”

It so nice that the triangular UFO has bright flashing standard aviation lights. So many were crashing on earth they decided to make it standard equipment on warp ships headed to our planet.

Earlier this year, reports emerged that NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) had likely found signs of life on a distant alien planet.

Celebrations were premature, according to a new study on the findings. Not all hope is lost, though, as the new paper also outlines how the telescope might still verify the presence of gas produced by life – if it really is out there.

No liitle green men in this case ... it's rather lanky green creatures:

"I applied the same principles that I would apply to any kind of homicide investigation," said Roder, who testified in cases like Oscar Pistorious' murder trial. "At this particular time, with what we've seen here, is proof of a couple of things. That these entities… are real. They're there. This is not fake. This is not a fraud."

In cases of extreme ultraviolet (UV) radiation, work published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society in 2019 suggests that aliens might actually glow red, blue or green as a way to protect themselves. Like some corals, these organisms might have proteins or pigments that can absorb some of the UV light's energy, which would then make them glow in a safer wavelength on the visible spectrum, according to the study.

Warp drives violate casualty so they can't be real.
However, if aliens develop a warp drive, and it fails, then we can get notified about it using a special type gravitational wave detector which do not exist yet but should be funded.

What no one has seen before: gravitational waveforms from warp drive collapse

Despite originating in science fiction, warp drives have a concrete description in general relativity, with Alcubierre first proposing a spacetime metric that supported faster-than-light travel. Whilst there are numerous practical barriers to their implementation in real life, including a requirement for negative energy, computationally, one can simulate their evolution in time given an equation of state describing the matter. In this work, we study the signatures arising from a warp drive "containment failure", assuming a stiff equation of state for the fluid. We compute the emitted gravitational-wave signal and track the energy fluxes of the fluid. Apart from its rather speculative application to the search for extraterrestrial life in gravitational-wave detector data, this work is interesting as a study of the dynamical evolution and stability of spacetimes that violate the null energy condition. Our work highlights the importance of exploring strange new spacetimes, to (boldly) simulate what no one has seen before.
