It's not really "AI". It is function approximation, there is nothing intelligent about it. The natural intelligence of the researchers is real.

 

There's a guy on YouTube (Two Minute Papers) who, I think, would love this article. It's fascinating (and, in many cases, surprising) what kind of things folks can apply machine learning to. But the fact that they've applied it to the Navier-Stokes problem...that's phenomenal.
