But in all seriousness. Stay safe. My sister lives in the town nearest to the closest eruption in Eyjarfjallajökull and the pictures she sent weren't pretty(kinda ashy:p)

Thankfully for us living in the capital district there was only 1 day that the ash went over us.

The guys who owned the international airplanes are going to tell a different story.....

Is that really the name of a city or did your dog just lick popcorn from your keyboard?
That''s them Icelandic words for you. Them people is crazy! Guess when the sun don't shine half the year you don't have much better to do than come up with hard to spell names. :p

The "funny" thing is that pretty much all Icelandic words are pronounced just like they are written and the only vowels that can be back to back are "ei" and "ey"(if you see other vowels side by side then the word is made of two or more words).

The confusing part for those who don't speak or read Icelandic are words like Eyjafjallajökull since it's made of three words and if you don't speak the language you don't know which letters make up which word. So people try to compress it into a single word using English pronunciation. With often hilarious results;)

Eyja=Island Fjalla=Mountains Jökull=Glacier

Sorry guys I forgot one combo which is "au":oops: that with "ei" or "ey" are the only times you would see 2 vowels side by side in a word that isn't multiple words put together.
