Yes. They are small flyback AC/DC converters, fed by the AC line though a rectifier and a filter capacitor, and that DC is chopped into the transformer. Among other things, the small size of the transformer core limits the total energy available at the output.So is it safe to say that most common smart phone charging adapters these days use switching voltage regulators?
