Wire gauge is a specification for the conductor. The insulation is not considered. Is the gauge meaning the outside diameter of the cable or the core of that?
Thanks

I'm not sure what you're asking about, but a wire gauge is the uninsulated, actual metal portion. The coated or insulated diameter will be greater. Is the gauge meaning the outside diameter of the cable or the core of that?
Thanks
