Why in full wave rectifiers using a function genrator instead of a low voltage center taped transformer will not work ?

well i tried it ,, in out labs at the university it just dont work when we are using function generators :huh:

if you give any ac wave to a rectifier in theory it works, the problems that you would have faced could be because of any of these reasons,
1- the input voltage that you would have given might be less than 1.4 volt which is lesser than the knee voltage of two silicon diodes. give 5v or above and try.
2-you would have placed a load resistor of a very small resistance which pulls down the out put voltage. use 10k resistor and 100μF filter capacitor.
3 or your function generators out put impedence must be very high. in this case try some other fucntion generator
