hey i,ve solved or at least seen such questions. (they are favorite of MBA entrance examination paper setters)
but in the above hint there is no description given abt the fish owner,

is there a condition that each person has a pet for sure, has a house ,is from certain country, has a hobby or habit.
of course these are understood but still please clarify.

plz check if u have written all the condn.

( i wud have loved to solve this one but due to some other considerations i wont be able to ,hope if no one is able to do it by 26th of may
take it for granted that i sure wud :) )

The matrix for this puzzle is a beast!

At the minute I'm for it being the German, correct? (It needs a bit of proofreading to make sure I got it right).

This is not a trick question, nor is there a "quick" solution. You just have to sit down and slog your way through the logic.

So, unless you're a Rainman or puzzle pattern freak, it will take a bit of your time. But, it is a "fun" logic puzzle.

I will let it sit for a few days, then post the answer matrix.

I know there is no quick answer. My attempt at the matrix led me to the conclusion that the German is the owner of the fish.

If I can get my scanner working I'll post my attempt.

Indeed. Is the German that owns the fish. Checked myself.
What I most like in this puzzle is that stereotypes are not followed (for example, the German doesn't drink beer, neither the British drinks tea).

For the answer matrix, see the attached text file.
My matrix arrangement was as follows:

Nationality - House Number - House Colour - Drink - Cigarettes - Pet

Set against each other, i.e. across the top of my matrix and down the side. You then have to use a method of elimination to get to the German owning the fish. I will post it if my scanner starts behaving!
