The challenge: not getting this thread closed because it is " political"

The question: who won the republican debate and why?

I didn't watch it. I heard a little of the earlier one, and none of the four made a lasting impression. They were a fine example ... of what, I haven't decided yet.

Yep, that is quite the challenge all right.

Ronald Reagan won. Everyone praised him and he didn't say anything stupid.

I didn't watch it; I was out on a dinner date. Much more enjoyable...

I watched about 15 minutes of it until my wife came in and changed the channel. I was scanning through AAC as I watched one of the most political thing on TV while reading a site that bans political discussions.

From the 15 minutes that I watched, nobody looked feeble, nobody said anything obnoxious and I apparently missed all of the talking points that made the morning news.

I don't watch the debates anymore. They are not informative at all; they are merely staged entertainment. Mr. Trump is the most egregious. He makes talking points without substance. I could be a front runner if I didn't have to discuss resolution strategy.

The democrat's. Funny thing is I didn't even watch it.

I think the debates have turned into a three ring circus, on either side.

It's tempting to give the answer, but I am not sure that is allowed here.

    My opinion:
Of the three, Trump, Carson, and Fiorina, I find Fiorina the most impressive debater. She is quick and doesn't hedge. Carson hedges too much. I agree with Trump on a lot of things, particularly his willingness to call something how he sees it, but he is too bombastic. Fiorina's biggest problem is the way her persona is projected in TV sound bites. When you listen to her in a one-to-one interview, she is pretty impressive. The dark horse in my opinion is Walker. I would love to see those 4 in a Lincoln-Douglas style debate.

So nice of you to quote Reagan from one on his debates.
